Duties of the presiding officer

The presiding officer shall be a women employed at a senior level within the organization. ICC will also have not less than 2 members who are committed to the cause of women

ICC shall also have one external NGO member committed to the cause of women. ICC during the conduct of  enquiry minimum of three members of the ICC must be present  including the presiding officer.

 

ICC and the presiding officer must take into account the fact that the aggrieved women may not be able to directly produce or corroborate evidence.

 

ICC’s presiding officer and ICC members must not permit any evidence based on the women's character personal life, sexual history etc.

 

It is imperative for the presiding officer to disallow any questions which is degrogatory or slanderous to the aggrieved women.

ICC must also ensure there is no retaliation against the grave women just because of the complaint.

ICC can on completion of the enquiry

  • Can issue a verbal or written warning
  • Recommend Suspension
  • Withhold increment or promotion etc

 

ICC Shall  also prepare and submit

  • the number of complaints received in the year
  • the number of complaints disposed of in the year
  • the number of complaints pending for more than 90 days
  • the training and awareness module conducted within the organisation to their employees
