Every ICC shall consist of one external member from a non-governmental organisation committed to the cause of women or any person associated with or is aware of issues relating to sexual harassment. this member of the ICC acts as a neutral, impartial and expert member of the ICC in order to facilitate and expedite inquiries and consequent actions.
this external member is provided with appropriate remuneration to carry out his/her functions.
As per the act, an external member has to be a part of ICC – a woman who has knowledge of the act / stands up for the rights of women or someone who is attached with an NGO.
