Sexual harassment is unwelcome behaviour which can make a person feel threatened,intimidated. Sexual harassment need not be physical always. Any action which makes women difficult to work in the particular environment is considered sexual harassment. Unwelcome sexual advances both verbal and physical. threatening with consequences, requesting sexual favors all are forms of sexual harassment.

Any thing which creates a hostile work environment is detrimental to your organisation as well as to the safety of everyone. Its your organisation's responsibility to create a conducive work environment by education,prevention,adhering to POSH act.

sexual harassment at workplace includes, but is not limited to, any kind of sexual advance made by a co-worker towards another by means of words, gestures or actions. sexual harassment need not always be direct. it can be indirect in any other form which could be perceived as a sexual indication or an advance made towards a woman. Showing pornography or other similar content to a woman also includes sexual harassment. there is widespread misconception that only physical contact constitutes sexual harassment. whereas sexual harassment is a much wider term which includes all forms of sexual indication, be it verbal, non-verbal or other. hence, under the POSH Act, all the above and other forms of acts have been included to constitute sexual harassment.
