Quid Pro Quo is a type of sexual harassment in which a superior or supervisor example a professor or someone who has more powers in the organization  request for sexual favors from a person with less power in exchange for employment or other benefits either way it is Quid Pro quo harassment

 

 

 

Quid Pro quo is Latin word for something for something the mutual consideration that passes between two parties to a contractual agreement there by rendering the agreement valid and binding in common usage Quid Pro quo refers to the Giving of one valuable thing for another.

 

 

What is unique about Quid Pro quo harassment?

 

Quid Pro Quo harassment occurs in the workplace when the manager or other authority figure offers or hints that he or she will give the employees something as a benefit say for an example of a rise or a promotion in return for those employees satisfying a demand

 Harassment becomes unlawful where in during the offensive conduct becomes a condition of continued employment or the conduct is  pervasive enough to create a work environment that a reasonable person would consider intimidating, hostile & abusive

 

 

Quid Pro Quo sexual harassment is most commonly recognized form of sexual harassment.

 

 it occurs when job benefits including employment promotion, salary increase, shifts or work assignments performance, Expectations and other conditions of employment are made contingent on the provision of sexual favors usually to an employer supervisor or agent of the employees who has the authority to make decisions about employment actions or the rejection of a sexual advance or request for sexual favors results in a tangible employment detriment, like the loss of a job benefit
