The new law provides the much needed grievance redressal process working women require at their work places. The act has given itself a wide scope, so as to include all women, including domestic help, as the household is her work place. Hence the law not only provides a redressal system for women at work place as in the traditional sense, but to all women who work at any place. Women are becoming more and more aware of their rights. Tarun Tejpal sexual assault case and the outcome so far.
Tarun J Tejpal is an Indian Journalist, publisher and former editor – in – chief of Tehelka Magazine. In November 2013 , a women colleague accused him of sexual assault in a hotel in goa. Tejpal was arrested by Goa police and has been kept in jail ever since his arrest on Nov 30. He has been booked under IPC sections including 354A ( sexual harassment , physical contact , advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures, or any of the unwelcome physical, verbal or non verbal conduct of sexual nature) 376 ( rape) and 376 (2) (k) ( rape by person of a women in his custody taking advantage of his official position) and he is still in jail.
Story 2, a former researcher at Delhi TERI institute, Big Boss RK Pachauri sexually harassed triggering an outrage across India especially after RK Pachauri was promoted subsequent that allegation.

Bajaj was an IAS officer , the case went from 1988 to 2005 , Just imagine if an IAS officer had to fight a case for around 20 years what will be status of common women in our society.

Phaneesh Murti one of the India's well known software executive and rising star during that occasion during that time zone is murthi had to summarily be sent out and had to resign from Infosys the most famous IT company in India in the year 2002 after his secretary Rekha accused him of sexual harassment result was Infosys settled for 3 million dollars out of court. Both the company and murthi never accepted any guilt on their part as per the agreement

Gopal Kanda a 23 year old young and energetic air hostess in a 2012 suicide note accused a sitting Haryana minister in the Haryana Government of India for sexually harassing her and forcing her to take her life the case is still been tried in the courts of Delhi

Mr Ashok Kumar Ganguly the former judge of Supreme Court has to step down as Head of the West Bengal Human Rights Commission in 2014 April after a student accused him of sexually harassing her in a hotel room .Supreme Court panel indicated Mr A K Ganguly for unwelcome behavior and misconduct of sexual in nature prompting his summary resignation
there are hundreds of cases which come into the courts of India and got justice maybe thousands of cases or unheard of or just buried under the carpet hence we need to wake up and be aware that prevention of sexual harassment in workplace is of Paramount importance and every woman in this country needs to be educated on their rights. More than women all the men in this country should be made aware that what are the limits and the do's and don'ts of sexual harassment
